Announcing the Tim Spann Human Rights Memorial Fund

Mission Statement:

The Tim Spann Human Rights Memorial Fund was created to continue Tim’s legacy by supporting a cause he was very passionate about:  human rights. This fund will be administered through the International Museum of Human Rights at San Diego (iMoHR*), a nonprofit museum and research center dedicated to fostering respect and awareness for human rights.  Click Here to donate to the Fund.

About Tim Spann:

Tim was a music enthusiast, avid supporter of the arts, and tireless volunteer for human rights groups across the country.  He was a sign maker by trade, creating beautiful works for businesses all over San Diego, and providing banners and signage for community events.  Tim was a founding board member of iMoHR, and an active member of Amnesty International group 137, for 30 years, serving as group coordinator from 1995 to 2003.

Primary Purpose of The Tim Spann Human Rights Memorial Fund:

To support the activities, projects and goals of iMoHR, which focus on human rights work throughout San Diego County.  Past projects have utilized the arts to educate and raise awareness about human rights through documentary film screenings, theater productions, readings, and panel discussions facilitated by prominent human rights defenders.  iMoHR routinely partners with other community organizations, such as Amnesty International, the United Nations Association and the Women’s Museum, to leverage the expertise within our region.

What happens next:

All donations received during our initial effort will launch The Tim Spann Human Rights Memorial Fund.  Our goal will then shift toward keeping the fund viable, by coordinating an annual concert, the proceeds of which will be dedicated to the fund for future use.  Tim helped organize a series of past concerts, that raised funds for human rights, so this will continue his endeavor.

Tim Spann devoted his life to making this world a better place.  Thank you for your generous donation to honor his legacy.

*Please note:  iMoHr is a 501(c) 3 designated nonprofit organization. They do not engage in any type of political lobbying activities.  Your donation is tax deductible.
